Their Story:
Following a tumultuous journey marked by illness and loss, this family's resilience is being put to the ultimate test. What began with a near-fatal battle against breast cancer for Mom took a harrowing turn when she suffered a grand mal seizure in front of her terrified children. Miraculously, she fought her way back to health, only to face another devastating blow when Covid-19 struck. Tragically, her husband's diagnosis of cancer led to his untimely passing just eight months later, leaving the family shattered.

The impact of these trials has been especially profound on their daughter, whose health declined rapidly, requiring a three-month hospitalization. With her daughter now needing round-the-clock care, Mom is unable to work, compounding the family's financial strain. Adding to the complexity, both children are autistic, amplifying the challenges they face in processing their grief and trauma.

As they navigate this turbulent time, the family's financial worries loom large, posing a significant risk to Mom's health, given her epilepsy and cancer history. Your support can provide a lifeline to this family, offering much-needed relief as they strive to rebuild their lives amidst unimaginable hardship.

Brokers Who Care voted and we are pleased to announce that we will be sending a cheque in the amount of $10,000 to Kim S, our Recipient of the 3rd Quarter 2024 vote. Thank you Sabeena Bubber for bringing this Cause to our attention. Their Story: Kim is a member of our mortgage family. She was trying to get a divorce and her ex husband tried to kill her because of it. In the process, when he fled, he took his own life. Kim is trying to pick up the pieces for her and her 3 daughters they shared. With the ex now being deceased she has no financial support in the way of child or spousal and now has to battle his executor to divorce from his estate and get what’s rightfully hers and the girls. She has two attorneys she has to pay; a divorce attorney and an estate attorney. He was the primary income earner. Her ex-mother in law is blaming her for his death and does not want her to receive the funds. She is also looking at having to go for reconstructive surgery for the nerve damage in her face plus counselling for the children all while being self employed and supporting three young girls. There has been an outpouring of support from many people in our industry. Let's show her that Brokers Who Care will help her to get through.

Brokers Who Care voted and we are pleased to announce that we will be sending a cheque in the amount of $10,000 to Ned Simic and Family, our Eastern Recipient of the 2nd Quarter 2024 vote. Thank you to Chantal Driscoll for bringing this Cause to our attention. The Nomination Story: A young small family has been impacted unexpectedly with the worst case scenario. What started as headaches and seemed like it wasn’t a big deal, maybe just stress , turned into a nightmare in an instant. Ned had to undergo emergency brain surgery to have his very fast growing tumour removed as much as possible. This surgery is followed by months of radiation, chemo and anti seizure medication. He is unable to work or drive. His wife Dahlia is his number 1 care provider and off work while she helps manage his appointments and medicine, and take care of their 4 year old. This financial help will really help alleviate the stress of both parents being off work unexpectedly, and give Ned the space to focus on his healing.
